We tried 2 other vendors: The Chimney Pros (exorbitant quote) and Top Notch Energy (he did not know what he was doing, was unreliable, and haphazard/careless: a nightmare, really.)
We finally found a great repair person. He is not local but he is willing to come to Richmond: EcoTech Gas Fireplace Repair (Wayne Foresman): (707) 865-9423.
He is in demand so we had to wait nearly a month for an appointment but he is worth the wait. Wayne is excellent--reliable, punctual, knowledgeable, professional, thorough--and his prices are very reasonable. We enthusiastically recommend him. (February, 2024)
