Have had two projects done through The Shade Store -- blackout shades in bedroom and solar shades in living room. They are a national chain with a showroom in Berkeley. They run a pretty smooth operation, with an initial measurement appointment, followed by discussion with a consultant for product selection, and finally with installation. Be on the lookout for periodic specials, 10-20% varying product lines. Both jobs were done correctly the first time, and turned out well.

We recently had our three kitchen window blinds replaced; and a very large master bedroom blind repaired. The new blinds and the services provided are excellent. In preparation for replacing our blinds I priced the project with another shop and for the same products - they were much more expensive at this alternative shop and my phone calls weren't returned for weeks at a time.
We plan on using Alcatraz Shade Shop to install new blinds in the solarium because we are so pleased with their service and selection.
